With the MLS stadium taking shape as it emerges from the ground downtown, excitement is building among downtown businesses according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Our Electrical Connection contractors and their IBEW workforce are working on this transformative project as they have for every landmark project reshaping in the Gateway City. NECA contractor Sachs Electric is the prime electrical contractor on the MLS stadium. Other NECA contractors engaged in the project are Aschinger Electric Co., BRK Electrical Contractors, LLC, TD4, LLC and Kaiser Electric with more contractors expected to join the building team as the stadium advances. The project is expected to employ around 150 IBEW skilled electricians and communication technicians.
Our IBEW & NECA partners are making great progress on the St. Jude Dream Home in Dardenne Prairie, Mo. On June 10, 2021 ticket sales will open to win the home. Proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The home is under roof and Branson Electric and its IBEW workforce are advancing electrical work with services donated by the Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA partnership. IBEW Local 1 will be participating in the annual KIDstruction Week fundraising campaign for St. Louis Children’s Hospital this August. The fundraising initiative was established in 2011 by Rich Ledbetter, CEO of NECA contractor Guarantee Electric Company. Since its inception, it has raised $3.2 million to support various hospital needs, including outreach programs, Child Life initiatives, research and equipment. This year’s KIDstruction Ambassador is Selah Harris, the daughter of IBEW Local 1 journeyman wireman Luke Harris. In a letter to his membership, IBEW Business Manager Frank Jacobs noted that “Selah’s journey is an inspiring story of courage and perseverance, and the talented staff at Children’s Hospital were with her every step of the way.” Read more.
