Electrical Connection Supports FIRST Robotics

ST. LOUIS — Another energizing round of robotics ingenuity is underway as the Electrical Connection sponsors the FIRST Robotics Competition — a robotics competition to develop STEM subject proficiencies in students across the country. FIRST— For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — held its three-day St. Louis regional competition at Chaifetz Arena March 20-22, 2015. The FIRST World Championships is being held in St. Louis April 22-25, 2015. Student teams worldwide are showcasing their skills in designing, programing and building remote-controlled robots.

“This is really a community-based program, so it’s great to have the Electrical Connection’s support,” said Paul Freiling director, engineering and robotics education at the Saint Louis Science Center. “Moreover, the Electrical Connection’s IBEW/NECA partnership inspires our students to think about career pathways. For decades, the Electrical Connection membership has been building the electrical infrastructure that brings news ideas to life.”

The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the St. Louis Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). Members of the Electrical Connection provide safe and reliable electrical construction, maintenance, repair and replacement services across Missouri, the nation and the world.
