Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA in the News

Our IBEW/NECA partners energize where the future is taking us.  For years, NECA contractor PayneCrest has proven its mettle in mission-critical infrastructure, delivering award-winning electrical solutions for data center customers. With a portfolio exceeding $600 million in completed contracts, PayneCrest and its IBEW workforce has powered more than one gigawatt of capacity and built more than 10 million square feet of high-performance data center space—making it a trusted partner in this rapidly evolving sector.

Our IBEW/NECA contractors are leading by example in recruiting high schoolers into the electrical trades. BRK Electrical CEO Marion A Hayes, III, took time out of his day to speak with the students at Jennings Senior High School about a career as an electrician and how to start as an apprentice after graduating high school.  Hayes himself graduated from the IBEW/NECA Electrical Industry Training Center. He combined it with a degree in electrical engineering and a master’s in construction management from Washington University.  Hayes founded BRK Electric in 2003.

In what has become an annual charitable endeavor, NECA contractor Shaeffer Electric led a volunteer team to make improvements to the non-profit Sherwood Forest camp which serves children from low-income households and underserved communities in Missouri and Illinois.  Schaeffer and its IBEW Local 1 partner traveled to the Sherwood Forest camp, located in the heart of the Ozarks near Lesterville, Mo., and delivered an array of free electrical upgrades including:
• A new three-phase sub panel to expand generator capacity
• Added a plug drop in the kitchen
• Repaired a damaged floor box receptacle
Seven of the cabins also received improvements including new LED lighting, a 20 amp circuit to supporting heating and ran conduit for future new air conditioning.
