Metro Transit has launched a fleet of 18 battery electric buses powered by chargers installed by Sachs Electric – an Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA contractor. Fourteen 60-foot long zero-emission vehicles are running on the No. 70 Grand MetroBus route, spanning from north city to south city. The 60-foot buses will charge for about 15 minutes on each trip at the North Broadway-Taylor Transit Center, using the quick chargers installed by Sachs, to keep the battery charge in the appropriate range. Sachs also installed the chargers at the Brentwood MetroBus Facility for all 14 of the 60-foot battery electric buses and four 40-foot long battery electric buses.  Learn more.
