One of the largest and oldest Electrical Connection contractors is growing its businesses with the acquisition of another century-old electrical contractor.  Guarantee Electrical Co. is acquiring Colorado Springs-based Berwick Electrical Co. The combined companies will have total revenue of $250 million and 750 total employees.  Berwick Electric will become an independently operating business unit within Guarantee, while continuing to do business as Berwick Electric Co.  Guarantee was founded in 1902 to electrify the 1904 World’s Fair St. Louis while Berwick is celebrating its 100th year of operation this year.

 

 

Precision pre-fabrication is becoming an essential tool to manage project costs and improve safety.  Electrical Connection NECA contractor PayneCrest Electric, Inc. is showcasing the “next evolution” of prefabrication to deliver overhead conduits for mission critical data centers in a new video. On one project alone, it saved $9 million in costs.

 

April is Autism Awareness Month and it found IBEW Local 1 again raising funds for autism awareness as a sponsor of the April 17, 2021 Autos 4 Autism drag races in Bonne Terre, Mo.  The event raised $38,000 to benefit Hope 4 Autism and its Visions of Hope Vocational Training Program which is tailored for individuals on the autism spectrum.  IBEW Business Representative Chuck DeMoulin was behind the wheel of the 1990 big block Camaro known as the “Harvester.” IBEW member and officer, Josh Peniston served as crew chief. His crew team included IBEW members Frank Peniston, Chad Riddle, and future members Ben Peniston and Makenzie Garbeil.
