NECA contractor Guarantee Electrical Construction and its IBEW workforce are part of the team led by JE Dunn Construction that is building a new replacement hospital to serve the U.S. Army’s Fort Leonard Wood. Guarantee is partnering with another NECA contractor on the project -- Coastal Electric of Jefferson City. A virtual groundbreaking was held June 22, 2020 for the $295 million design/build project. It features a 235,400-square-foot hospital, 193,300-square-foot clinic, central utility plant, emergency back-up generators, five-bay ambulance garage, helipad and supporting facilities. Learn more.

IBEW is heralding the success of the Veterans Electric Entry Program (VEEP), which recently graduated its second class. “VEEP works with military base leadership to provide an opportunity for servicemen and women in their final six months of service to complete a pre-apprenticeship in an intensive, full-time course. The free, seven-week pre-apprenticeship training works in tandem with the more than 300 Joint Apprenticeship Training Committees across the U.S. to place service members in IBEW apprenticeships based on their top three choices.” Learn more.
