As the year comes to an end, December is a month when the Electrical Connection reflects on the privilege of serving others with three charitable events.  December 8, 2025 will begin the culmination of the IBEW Electrical Workers Minority Caucus’ (EWMC) annual coat drive, which has provided coats for children in need for more than 20 years. At that time, coats will be delivered to the Hazelwood School District in the first of a series of coat giveaways. On Dec. 11, 2025, the IBEW/NECA partnership will host the annual U.S. Probation Holiday party at the IBEW Local 1 union hall.  Families served by the justice system will enjoy a festive event with gifts for their children and holiday meals.  Then, on Dec. 16^th, the Electrical Connection will be in Farmington, Mo. to support the annual St. Francois County “Shop with Cop,” which will bring holiday cheer to more than 500 children. This will be the 30^th year of IBEW/NECA support.
