Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA in the News

For the 29th year, the IBEW/NECA Electrical Connection partnership is supporting the St. Francois County “Shop with a Cop” program, one of the largest in the nation.  And it is a benchmark year, with total donations by the Electrical Connection reaching $100,000.  On Nov. 7, 2024, Danny Miller of NECA contractor Total Electric, based in Farmington, Mo., and Lee Asher IBEW Local 1 business representative presented a $5,000 check to the St. Francois County Sherriff’s Department to support the program. On December 17, 2024, law enforcement and first responders from across the state will take more than 500 children holiday shopping for gifts they would not otherwise receive.

Meanwhile, IBEW Local 1’s Veterans Committee held a food drive and fund raiser for the victims of Hurricane Helene.  It included a rib and chili cookoff.  The food drive was held at IBEW Local 1’s union hall and then delivered to a site in St. Louis where Ameren palletized it and added it to food that had been collected statewide from Missouri IBEW union locals.  It was then driven to the IBEW Local 238 union hall in Ashville, N.C. for distribution.

A place of worship can visually inspire, but it is the words and song that touch the soul. At the Benjamin Brown Graham Memorial Chapel at Washington University in St. Louis, it is delivered with improved clarity thanks to Electrical Connection contractor TSI Global Companies and its IBEW workforce.  Partnering with K-Array USA, TSI/IBEW’s work involved implementing K-Array’s advanced audio solutions to enhance sound clarity without compromising the chapel’s architectural integrity. The new system, integrated over 18 months, has received high praise for its clear and immersive sound quality at all volumes.  Learn more.
