It is an unfortunate reality that healthcare workers are experiencing a significant rise in violence, with incidents increasing by 63% over the years. On average, two nurses are assaulted every hour in hospitals. NECA contractor Primary Systems and its IBEW Local 1 workforce are introducing cutting-edge technology to protect healthcare workers. Learn more about how Primary Systems is advising and installing state-of-the-art technology to quickly locate health care workers in distress, badge buttons that send pop-up alerts, and hospital analytics technology to improve security.

Meanwhile, our IBEW/NECA partners are working to attain the U.S. Department of Commerce’s goal of doubling the number of women in the trades. The federal agency notes that “while there are about a million women working in construction now, they account for less than 11% of workers in the industry and less than 5% of skilled trade occupations.” On Oct. 4, 2024, NECA contractor Guarantee Electrical will be saluted by Missouri Women in the Trades (MOWIT) for its efforts to grow the ranks of women electricians and communication technicians. MOWIT will present Guarantee with its “Breaking Barriers: Contractor of the Year Award.”
