Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA in the News

NECA contractor J.F. Electric powered a new fabrication facility in Troy, Ill. to help meet the demand for rebar in the construction industry.  The Edwardsville-based electrical contractor and its IBEW workforce was part of the team led by Contegra Construction that completed the 35,000-square-foot fabrication facility for the 68-year-old, family-owned NuWay Companies.  The state-of-the-art facility quadruples Nu Way’s annual rebar production capacity to 15,000 tons of reinforcing steel.  The facility features three bays and can process rebar on 3.5 ton coils and straight lengths up to 60-feet long.  Each bay is served by an overhead crane, including a 16-ton magnetic crane and two five-ton cranes. Our IBEW/NECA partners were recruiting the workforce of the future at the Infinite Scholars Fair at Saint Louis University – a college scholarship fair.  It is part of a full slate of career fairs that the Electrical Connection partnership will be engaged in this school year. The IBEW/NECA Electrical Industry Training Center offers college credits by partnering with select higher education institutions.

Our IBEW/NECA contractors compete, collaborate, and partners for great causes.  That includes Kidstructon, an annual fundraiser to support St. Louis Children's Hospital. Recently PayneCrest Electric and Guarantee Electrical played an energizing softball game, raising $48,777 for the pediatric hospital.
