Cardinal Glennon Chrildrens Medical Center
Named after John Cardinal Glennon, the Archbishop of St. Louis from 1903 to 1946, SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center first opened its doors in July 1956. It was the Archbishop's objective to see a health care facility open to all children in need of medical care. The hospital first was named Cardinal Glennon MemorialHospital for Children. Those who have come to know it well simply refer to it as "Glennon."
Each year there is a rising number of premature babies born. To meet our community's growing need for advanced care, Cardinal Glennon has built state-of-the-art Neo Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The objective for the NICU was to provide a total communication platform. It was their goal to be able to respond to an emergency call and know where emergency equipment is at any time.
In addition to the new NICU addition Cardinal Glennon also expanded the number of OR’s as well. They were looking for a complete integration of a process management system.
Cardinal Glennon partnered with Primary Systems to meet their objectives. In the NICU Primary Systems utilized Ascom wireless telephony and Rauland nurse call with Responder NET and Tracer. The Responder IV’s components allowed for staff assist warnings to be interfaced with the Ascom wireless telephony in the event of an emergency. Responder NET provided Cardinal Glennon a simple PC interface for easy staff sign-on, staff-to-patient assignments, and customized patient/staff information displays - all on their network. Tracer is a badge that when attached can be used to locate anyone or anything. At Cardinal Glennon they utilized the tracer badge by attaching it to both the staff and their emergency equipment. The benefit was that it allowed everyone to have knowledge of the exact location of other staff and emergency equipment at all times. The end result is increased productivity, communication and faster response time in the event of an emergency.
In the new OR’s Primary Systems implemented a two button process management system that has essentially eliminated seven phone calls in the process of patient delivery and exit. This innovative technology allows the following benefits with the push of a button: this alerts Recovery a patient is coming, alerts Housekeeping that room needs to be cleaned, notifies Central Supply and Charge Nurse that the surgery is completed and to be ready for the next one. A second button is utilized when housekeeping has completed cleaning the suite and has it ready for the next patient. Given these improvements Cardinal Glennon was given a complete process management system they were seeking.
Motorola Wireless Broadband - Dave Sinclair Ford
The Dave Sinclair Automotive group is comprised of four automotive dealerships including Dave Sinclair Ford, Dave Sinclair Lincoln & Mercury South and St. Peters, and Dave Sinclair Buick Pontiac GMC. Since the first dealerships doors opened, Dave Sinclair and his "If it’s not right, we’ll make it right - free" slogan have become known commodities throughout the automotive industry.
With the help of Primary Systems, Dave Sinclair Ford implemented Motorola’s Point-to-Point (PTP) 300 Ethernet 5.4 and 5.8 GHz Integrated Bridge providing affordable, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. With the achievement of 50 megabits per second (Mbps) of continuous bandwidth, Primary Systems was able to give Dave Sinclair Ford a huge amount of bandwidth they were not anticipating. To put it into perspective, it would have taken a DS3, equivalent to 28 T1 lines (Dave Sinclair would have only needed one T1), to achieve 45 Mbps, which still does not achieve the 50mbps that one Motorola PTP 300 was able to achieve.
Webster School District
The Webster Groves School District community is committed to academic and personal success for every student. With over 10 schools in its district Webster School District is committed to success.
Webster School District was being charged over $2000 every month in usage fees with their previous telecommunications provider. They were searching for a cost effective mobile communications solution that would still allow their Custodial staff to communicate.
Webster took the time to look at other vendors and their solutions as well and selected Primary Systems to design, install and integrate the Ascom turnkey solution. Primary Systems utilized Ascom i75 wireless handsets to completely eliminate Webster’s monthly service fees. Additionally, Webster was also given the added capability of incorporating the Ascom i75 wireless handsets with their PBX phone system forming a “total communications platform.”
With the implementation of Ascom, Primary Systems was able to give the WebsterSchool District an in-building wireless solution and a return on their investment within a year’s time.

Building its relationship with SSM Health Care-St. Louis, Primary Systems provided the nurse call systems, overhead paging, and a complete in-building wireless telephony solution that allowed the newly opened, $236 million, 154-bed SSM St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, MO the capability of being more patient-focused and supported their new implemented decentralized nursing model.
Primary Systems provided St. Clare Health Center with both Rauland Responder IV and Responder 4000 nurse call systems, Responder NET software, Versus Tracer real-time staff locating, Bi-amp Overhead Paging, and the Ascom IP-DECT system. Responder NET provided St. Clare with a simple PC interface for easy staff sign-on, staff-to-patient assignments, and customized patient/staff information displays - all on their network. The Tracer system badge, provided by-name information on patient interaction, lean process-flow evaluation, and data regarding patient activity and care trends.
With the implementation of the Ascom IP-DECT system, and its integration with the nurse call system provided St. Clare staff with a mobile communication platform that improves communication efficiency, and supports the decentralized care model they were seeking.

Based in Emeryville, Calif., Chevys, Inc., is a leading independent Mexican restaurant chain in the U.S., with 106 Chevys Fresh Mex Restaurants nationwide and 9 Fuzio Universal Pasta Restaurant concepts. As in any restaurant earning repeat business is a combination of great food and great customer service. To ensure the highest level of quality the owners of the Chevy’s Restaurants in St. Louis wanted a way to remotely monitor their restaurants operations any time of day.
By installing Samsung’s Security Cameras and Digital Video Recorder with remote internet access the business partners are able to view live and recorded video of the restaurants at any time of day. The Samsung DVR software allows them the ability to view multiple locations on a single screen at one time directly from their home PCs.
Laclede Gas
Laclede Gas Company is a public utility engaged in the retail distribution of natural gas. The Company serves an area in eastern Missouri, with a population of approximately 2.0 million, including the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County and parts of eight other counties. As an adjunct to its gas distribution business, the Company operates underground natural gas storage fields and is engaged in the transportation and storage of liquid propane.
Serving more than 630,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in the City of St. Louis and ten other counties in eastern Missouri Laclede Gas has a network of facilities throughout the area. Laclede wanted the ability to both monitor and control access to their facilities, many of which are unmanned.
Laclede Gas has partnered with Primary Systems to provide a comprehensive integrated security platform that allows complete facility monitoring and access from a single location. To accomplish this task Primary Systems utilized RS2’s Access Control platform integrated with RTS’s Real Time Surveillance system. The pairing of RS2’s cutting-edge software with RTS’s advanced video recording and transmission technology provided a powerful combination for a sophisticated, enterprise-class surveillance and access control solution.
