Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA in the News

As our IBEW/NECA partners prepared to serve low-income homes this April for Rebuilding Together St. Louis, they learned that the St. Louis Business Journal will honor them that same month in their “Innovation in Philanthropy Awards.”  The award salutes the partnership for 20 years of planning, mobilizing and donating services to homeowners in desperate need of electrical repairs and improvements.  Since 2003, the Electrical Connection has donated more than $2.3 million in labor and materials to improve more than 585 homes for low-income St. Louis homeowners in its partnership with Rebuilding Together.  Learn more about the award.

Meanwhile, another IBEW/NECA chartable endeavor is underway.  The partnership will again be donating resources to build this year’s St. Jude Dream Home.  The home’s construction and sale will benefit children served by the renowned St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.  This year’s home is being built in Wentzville, Mo.  Stay tuned for more details and learn more at this link.

And a “tip of the cap” to Tim Green, executive vice president of the IBEW/NECA Electrical Connection, who is being honored by his alma mater, the University of Missouri at St. Louis (UMSL).  He is one of 60 alumni difference makers that are being spotlighted for the institution’s 60th anniversary. “As a strong voice for the people, Tim Green has made life better for generations of Missouri residents,” said the university’s announcement, noting that the university “is proud of the economic and philanthropic reach of its programs and partnerships, but it’s the people UMSL most wants to honor as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.”
