St. Louis Chapter NECA Vice President Emily Martin Honored For Business Leadership by the St. Louis Business Journal


ST. LOUIS — Emily Martin, vice president of the St. Louis Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), will be honored this summer for her business leadership by the St. Louis Business Journal. Martin, who is president of Aschinger Electric, was among 25 women named “Most Influential Business Women” by the St. Louis Business Journal. She along with the other honorees will be saluted on Aug. 8, 2014 at a luncheon at America’s Center and be profiled in the paper.

Martin will be honored for helping grow the St. Louis business community and improving the community she serves. In 2013, she was on the NECA negotiating team which produced a three-year contract with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One, boosting the flexibility and competitiveness of union electrical contractors. Martin is also a legislative liaison for NECA, offering persuasive testimony in Jefferson City on laws and regulations impacting the electrical industry. Among her other achievements:

  • Expanding Aschinger’s business by growing its electrical preventive maintenance work and developing partnerships that have earned Aschinger solar projects.
  • Serving as board chair of Des Peres Hospital.
  • Accepting the role of chair in 2015 for the 1,600-member AAIM employers’ association which helps businesses improve the development and management their people and processes.
  • Serving the St. Louis County Electrical Examining Board where she helps ensure the integrity of licensed electrical contractors in St. Louis County
  • Helping the Missouri Board of Mediation with her consensus building skills.
