Seven NECA Electrical Contractor Projects Honored In the 2014 AGC-St. Louis Construction Keystone Awards

ST. LOUIS — The Associated General Contractors (AGC) — St. Louis is honoring seven projects by members of St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association as finalists in its annual AGC Construction Keystone Awards. The projects will vie for top honors in their category at this year’s Nov. 13, 2014 awards gala at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in Downtown St. Louis.

The finalists feature projects orchestrated by three NECA contractors and include:

  • Kaiser Electric, Inc. for St. Joseph Health Center — Switchgear Replacement for SSM Health Care;
  • PayneCrest Electric, Inc. for P & X Building Switchgear Modernization & Reliability Upgrades for Monsanto; Hollywood Casino Improvements for Penn National Gaming; and the Solana Concentrated Solar Power Plant for Abengoa Solar, Inc.
  • Guarantee Electrical Co. for Mercy Orthopedic Hospital for Mercy Health System; Ballpark Village for The Cordish Companies; and 210 N. Tucker Colocation Utility Service & Buildout for Digital Realty Trust, Inc.

“What’s particularly impressive is the complex nature of each of these projects,” said Jim Curran, executive vice president, Electrical Connection. “It is a testament to the teamwork of our NECA contractors and the IBEW Local 1 workforce they employ. Combined, they deliver exceptional quality, safely, and value, on time and within budget.” St. Louis NECA contractors partner with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One to form the Electrical Connection. Since initiating the AGC Keystone Awards in 1998, a half dozen different NECA contractors have been honored in the competition for construction excellence for work on more than 70 projects, netting 25 AGC Keystone Awards.
