Missouri State Senator Timothy P. Green Honored By the PRIDE Labor-Management Organization


ST. LOUIS — Leadership and leading by example were highlighted in this year’s PRIDE of St. Louis, Inc. award luncheon on Sept. 13, 2012. Missouri State Senator Timothy P. Green received the Dick Mantia Labor Award. Green was recognized for his 24 years of service in the Missouri house and senate, advancing the quality and safety of construction work statewide while supporting working families. Green is also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One, which partners with the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) to form the Electrical Connection

Other honorees saluted for their leadership in the construction industry were BJC HealthCare; mechanical contractor Murphy Co. Chairman and CEO James J. Murphy, Jr.; Lambert St. Louis International Airport Contract Compliance Officer Francoise Lyles-Wiggins; and Good Samaritan Ray Leuthauser, a union construction worker who helped recover lost money to pay for homeless meals. The ceremony was held at the new Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 36 Training Center and Union Hall.

PRIDE, founded in 1972, is an acronym for Productivity and Responsibility Increase Development & Employment. For more than 35 years, PRIDE has worked to maintain harmony and build cooperation among St. Louis area AFL-CIO construction craft workers, contractors, construction buyers, architects, engineers and suppliers.
