ST. LOUIS — They’ve become familiar faces to IBEW Local 1 electricians working at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis — young patients peering through their hospital windows at the construction workers. Some wave. Others just watch. But all of them inspired IBEW to engage in an extraordinary act of kindness. IBEW raised more than $4,000 to purchase gifts for the children to brighten their stay in the hospital. The kids produced a 10-page wish list and IBEW purchased gifts for 264 children, delivering them on Sept. 1, 2016.

“The smiles on those kids faces was enough for us,” said John Peniston of IBEW Local 1 in a story on KSDK-TV.

The electricians were performing work for a variety of NECA contractors including Sachs Electric Co., Guarantee Electric Co., TD4 Electrical LLC, BRK Electrical Contractors, LLC and Pearl Street Electric.
