ST. LOUIS — The Electrical Connection, which represents installers and designers of green energy systems, is now part of the St. Louis Rams ongoing Green Platform. Launched in 2007, the Rams have committed to a number of sustainable practices from recycling and waste reduction to energy efficiency and the use of recycled materials. The Electrical Connection will partner with the Rams on a number of initiatives, including its fifth annual Green Week of activities leading up to their annual Green Game on September 21, 2014 against the Dallas Cowboys. The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

“We’re pleased to have the Electrical Connection and its expertise in all facets of energy as a partner in the Rams’ enduring commitment to environmental sustainability,” said Lisa Boaz, Rams senior manager of marketing & advertising. “The goal with our green efforts has always been to not only do the right thing, but to help our fans learn from what we are doing.”

The Rams Green Game against the Cowboys on September 21, 2014 will feature a Green Expo beginning at 10 a.m. at the Bud Light Tailgate Party at Baer Park. The Electrical Connection will bring the excitement of Radio Disney to the expo for an engaging energy education program for kids. The Electrical Connection will also be featured in a series of sustainability messages throughout the game.

“We’re proud to be a part of the Rams ongoing commitment to a healthier planet,” said Jim Curran. “While the Electrical Connection membership excels at delivering all energy needs for the state of Missouri, it is on the forefront of supplying sustainable energy from solar, biomass, wind and geothermal sources.”

As part of their Green Game, the Rams will offset 100 percent of the electricity used at the Edward Jones Dome during the game. It will also offset the Dallas Cowboys team travel to and from St. Louis and fan travel to and from the Edward Jones Dome using carbon offsets.
