ST. LOUIS — The season-long celebration of the return of outdoor professional soccer to St. Louis continued with a salute to sponsor Electrical Connection and the USA Women’s World Cup title at the July 11, 2015 Saint Louis Football Club (Saint Louis FC) game against the Richmond Kickers. The 7:30 p.m. game was Electrical Connection night at St. Louis Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. and featured a pre-game happy hour and a post-game fireworks display to honor the World Cup champion USA women’s soccer team. In addition, the first 1,000 adults attending the game received free bottle cozies and one fan was awarded a free Saint Louis FC jersey compliments of the Electrical Connection.

The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). Earlier this year, it joined Mercy Hospital in sponsoring the Saint Louis FC and its inaugural season in the United Soccer League (USL). Saint Louis FC lost the game against the Kickers 3-1 and now sports a 4-6-6 record, but it didn’t dampen the spirit of the fans. Saint Louis FC has enjoyed two sellouts and near capacity crowds for its home games this year.
