Electrical Connection IBEW/NECA in the News


Several recent spring spotlights showcased the Electrical Connection’s and IBEW/NECA’s commitment to the community and excellence in service.

The Electrical Connection teamed with Habitat for Humanity to provide energy saving tips on Fox 2 on May 4, 2016. In June, Construction Forum St. Louis spotlighted the work of 140 IBEW electricians and 23 NECA contractors, who volunteered to make 23 low income homes safer for Rebuilding Together St. Louis. Construction Forum also detailed honors presented to IBEW/NECA by the Northwest R1 School District for its community support and excellence in service.

NECA Contractor J.F. Electric of Edwardsville, Ill. was ranked one of the fastest growing companies by the St. Louis Business Journal. It grew revenues more than 43 percent from 2013 to 2015 by excelling in electrical power, control, instrumentation and construction services.

IBEW/NECA’s and the Electrical Connection’s unified approached to improving services, meeting the needs of construction consumers and energizing economic developing was featured in the May/June issue of St. Louis Construction News and Review (CNR).

That same issue of CNR spotlighted an IBEW/NECA project successfully transforming a historic St. Louis company which has been being rebranded with a new name. In 2015, the 138-year-old Brown Shoe Co. in Clayton announced it would be renamed Caleres. NECA contractor Metropolitan Electric performed electrical improvements to front door of its headquarters. It installed new lighting and control systems including LED rope lighting under benches, along walkways and on the roof as part of the refurbished plaza. Work also included spotlighting the ornamented fountain, installing submersible lights and improving overall landscape lighting.
