UPI Spotlights IBEW/NECA Work on Missouri's Largest Solar Field

Feb. 10, 2015 ST. LOUIS — United Press International (UPI) is spotlighting St. Louis NECA contractor proficiencies in the growing solar market. A January 18, 2015 article on the solar industry adding jobs showcased PayneCrest’s work on the O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center in O’Fallon, Mo.

Spanning the size of 19 football fields, it is the largest solar facility in Missouri for investor-owned utility Ameren. The O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center features more than 19,000 solar panels in 75 rows to generate 5.7 megawatt of electricity, enough to power 650 average-size homes in the St. Louis area. PayneCrest teamed with IBEW Local One on the project.

The O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center is located on 22-acre site adjacent to Ameren Missouri's Belleau substation in St. Charles County.
