Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) Re-Elects Jim Curran of The Electrical Connection as District 5 Director


ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) has re-elected Jim Curran as District 5 Director. Curran, who is executive vice president for the Electrical Connection, has held the position since 2004.

Also elected by MEDC were Mike Chell, business development executive for Ameren Services, as Alternate District 5 Director, and Bob Swank, director of economic development for the City of Wentzville, as Public Policy Liaison District 5.

MEDC is a statewide, nonprofit association of economic development professionals and community leaders that seek to enhance economic growth through new programs and collaboration. Curran represents municipalities in District 5 to gain tools, incentives and legislation from the state necessary for job retention, expansion and attraction. The district includes the city of St. Louis, St. Louis County and Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, Montgomery, St. Charles, Warren and Washington counties.

At the Electrical Connection, Curran cultivates professional relationships and new business opportunities with construction buyers and developers throughout eastern Missouri, including metro St. Louis. The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association.

He previously served as economic development director for the cities of O’Fallon, Mo. and Fenton, Mo. and as president of the Fenton Development Association.
