ST. LOUIS — There was no shortage of energy as the Electrical Connection and Radio Disney partnered to sponsor the Children’s Activities Center at the 12th annual Green Homes and Great Health Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The Electrical Connection and Radio Disney, which collaborate on a number of energy education initiatives for children, engaged youngsters of all ages in fun ways to learn about our energy future.

While entertaining children, the Electrical Connection also engaged parents in a number of its programs that support the nation’s STEM initiative to build knowledge in science, technology, engineering and math.

“Parents are such a great influence on their children,” said Jim Curran, executive vice president of the Electrical Connection. “Their kids are eager to learn about the future of energy and parents can be real heroes by encouraging them in their STEM subjects.”

The festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 showcased a multitude of options for sustainable living combined with positive ways to maintain the health of people and the planet.

The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
