ST. LOUIS — You can’t operate an electric car without some way to charge it. So, the Electrical Connection will be offering information to families about electric vehicle charging stations at the Saint Louis Science Center’s Electric Vehicle Car Show on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014. The 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. event in the James S. McDonnell Planetarium parking lot will feature owners of all the major EVs including Teslas, Leafs, Volts, and even some home built conversion electric cars.

Dennis Gralike, director of the IBEW/NECA Electrical Industry Training Center, will be on hand to talk about electric vehicle charging stations. The training center helped develop a national Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) to provide reliable installations of fixed charging stations at residential and commercial destinations to support the electric vehicle industry. To date, more than 270 IBEW electricians and more than 25 NECA contractors have completed EVITP instruction including recent safety requirements presented in the National Electrical Code.
