Electrical Connection Members Are Sole Labor-Management Representatives on the St. Louis Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Energy

ST. LOUIS — Among the 700 industry movers and shakers honored in seven U.S. cities, only the Electrical Connection had labor-management representatives in a prestigious listing of “Who’s Who in the Energy” in the St. Louis Business Journal. Clayton Scharff, chairman, president and CEO of Sachs Electric Co., and Jim Curran, executive vice president of the Electrical Connection, were saluted in the Nov. 30, 2012 issue. Both Scharff and Curran were cited for advancing energy initiatives in the construction industry. The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

The St. Louis Business Journal honored Scharff and Sachs Electric Co, a member of the Electrical Connection, for the firm’s prowess in energy installations. Its greatest accomplishment was the “completion of the only state-of-the-art steam electric generating facility in the U.S. to be completed on schedule and within budget.” Sachs is based in Fenton, Mo.

Meanwhile, St. Louis Business Journal noted that Curran “engages more than 2,500 highly skilled electricians/communication technicians and the more than 100 highly proficient electrical contractors that employ them in building Missouri’s energy future.” Curran serves on a number of statewide economic development and energy association boards of directors and advisory committees. Curran has initiated a number of partnerships with businesses, organizations, schools and communities to advance education and awareness in all types of energy.
