Electrical Connection and Its Members Named to St. Louis Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Energy


ST. LOUIS — For the second year in a row, the Electrical Connection and its members are being recognized in the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Energy.” The annual listing honors 800 industry leaders in eight U.S. cities. The Electrical Connection remains the only labor-management partnership locally on the list.

Among the Electrical Connection members listed in “Who’s Who in Energy” are Clayton Scharff, chairman, president and CEO of Sachs Electric Co., Luke Peterson, director, national projects, PayneCrest Electric and Communications, and Jim Curran, executive vice president of the Electrical Connection. They were saluted in the Nov. 22, 2013 issue. The Electrical Connection is a partnership of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local One and the St. Louis Chapter, National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

The St. Louis Business Journal honored Scharff and Sachs Electric Co. for his leadership in the $222 million electrical contracting firm. Sachs is based in Fenton, Mo. Peterson and PayneCrest were honored for proficiency in electrical contracting work serving customers in industrial, commercial and energy industries, including renewable energy. PayneCrest is based in St. Louis County.

Meanwhile, St. Louis Business Journal saluted Curran for developing job-generating partnerships statewide and engaging community organizations in energy education initiatives, including those advancing the nation’s goal of improving academic performance in STEM subjects. Curran was recently elected vice chair of the Missouri Energy Initiative, which sets energy policy for the state of Missouri. His board service also includes The Hawthorn Foundation, Univerdant Sustainability Network, LLC, the Missouri Small Modular Reactor (SMRs) Readiness Committee and the St. Louis Regional Chamber Energy and Environmental Committee. He also serves on the advisory board of I-44 High Tech and the incubator advisory board of The Economic Development Center of St. Charles County
