International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1

Frank Jacobs is the chairman of the Electrical Connection. As business manager for IBEW Local 1, he represents 7,000 IBEW Local 1 members, including more than 4,500 skilled electricians and communications technicians.  He also chairs the IBEW/NECA Joint Apprenticeship Trust Fund, which oversees workforce training at the IBEW/NECA Electrical Industry Training Center.  In addition, Jacobs serves as president of the Regional Union Construction Center (RUCC), which helps minority- and women-owned union construction companies improve business skills.  His board service also includes:

• St Louis Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO president;
• Missouri AFL-CIO executive board;
• St Louis Labor Council vice president;
• Saint Louis Construction Cooperative governance board:
• St. Louis Airport Commission:
• St. Louis Science Center: and
• United Way

In 2020, as the pandemic was gripping the region, Jacobs was appointed to serve with local business and civic leadership on a St. Louis County economic rescue steering committee.
