IBEW Local 1

For 44 years, David Roth has served IBEW Local 1 in several capacities.  He followed his father Al Roth and joined IBEW in 1979.  David Roth worked on several high-profile projects including the renovation of the Admiral as well as electrical work for Union Station, Monsanto (now Bayer), Mallinckrodt Chemical and BJC-Healthcare.  He grew through the ranks serving as an apprenticeship committee member, treasurer for the union and an IBEW Local 1 business representative. Today, he serves as IBEW Local 1 financial secretary where he guides members on retirement and retirement pensions, collects union dues, invests financial reserves and pays the bills.  From 2010 to 2022, Roth also orchestrated IBEW Local 1’s volunteer initiatives with Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together, St. Louis.  He conducts tours and manages maintenance at the Henry Miller Museum in St. Louis, which honors the founding of IBEW Local 1 as the first skilled electrical union trade in the nation.
